Acedeck Nyx Z1 Street Edition 2024 Electric Skateboard
So Acedeck just upgraded one of their fastest and hardest accelerating boards in their entire lineup, this is the all new Acedeck Nyx Z1 Street Edition for 2024. And it’s got me mind blown on just how much of an upgrade this is. The Original Nyx Z1 Street Edition was already a monstrous beast and it was so extreme that I never got to max it out in terms of acceleration and top speed. There are very few boards that I was never able to tap their full potential because of how powerful they are and the 2023 Z1 Street edition was one of them. But, now in 2024, Acedeck has lost their minds and out done themselves, they upgraded the already insanely powerful board by increasing the ESC output Current from 90 to 120 AMPs, this is a whopping 33% increase in raw power delivery the motors.
If you want the hardest accelerating electric skateboard on the market today with the best build quality. Take a serious look at the Nyx Z1 2024 Street edition. One thing I can tell you about this new board is that this is already one of my favorite boards of all time. And It also gives premium boutique boards like the $4500 Lacroix Lonestar Supersport a serious run for its money. If you want a board so extreme, that every time you accelerate you pee a little bit from a mixture of sheer rush of adrenaline and fear, then look no further. Let’s grab a diaper and go for a ride.
As we highlighted at the beginning, the acceleration from 0 to 30 on this skateboard is exceptionally brutal. It's crucial to position your rear foot securely against the ESC housing, this allows you to lean into the most aggressive angle possible to effectively counteract the G forces you'll experience during acceleration. The acceleration curve is insanely powerful but surprisingly smooth. It's know that because the rider needs to lean very aggressively forward while accelerating, any sudden decrease in acceleration or jolts may completely throw the rider off. But, with the Ace-deck Nyx Z1, I’ve always felt that I'm in complete control of the board’s power. This consistent performance inspires confidence in its handling and overall ride quality.
I found the Z1 to be extremely well tuned, ensuring that it maintains a smooth and predictable momentum even when the accelerator is unintentionally released or released too quickly. Typically, transitioning to a new board involves a period of adjustment, as one becomes accustomed to the unique characteristics and behavior of the new board. However, the Z1 distinguishes itself with such refined tuning of the acceleration curve that moving from any other electric skateboard to this one is seamless. Its intuitive handling means that riders can feel instantly comfortable and in control, making the Z1 an excellent choice for both newcomers and seasoned electric skateboard enthusiasts looking for an effortless transition and immediate familiarity with their ride.
Top speed is 37 miles per hour. I’ve pushed to 30 mph and my remote nob isn’t even pushed to half way. I’m pretty sure you can get up to that speed on this board given how much unused headroom there is at 30 miles per hour, maybe even faster on bigger wheels. But, be sure to wear your protective gears. Falling off at 37 miles per hour is no joke. The brakes on the Z1 are highly reliable, they are smooth and powerful. Coupled with these highly grippy tires, you can leave some serious skid marks on the ground when braking, and yet it still feels extremely stable while I slam down on the brakes.
On top of the already increased power, the board gets an upgrade in battery capacity as well. The battery capacity increased from 828 Watt hours to 1036 Watt hours. This is a 25% increase in battery capacity using the same Samsung 40T battery cells. This translates to roughly the same amount of range increase as well. Now the bad news is that this is only for the more expensive option. If you get the cheaper option, which I still recommend, the battery capacity will only increase from 622 Watt hours to 653 Watt hours, it’s only a marginal increase. This is due to the battery changing from the Samsung 40T cells to Molicel P42A cells. The newly added P42 A cells is overall a battery than the 40T in many ways, particularly that the P42A has a longer life cycle than the 40T, runs at a lower temperature and P42A is a slightly higher output. With all of this said, I don’t think you are going to notice any difference in a blind test against the 2023 model.
Aside from that, everything else is exactly the same. You get the same ergonomic and responsive deck plus the 7000 Watt Dual motor system powered by an ultra efficient gear drive system that screams into overdrive in milliseconds. The Z1 also still rocks the same powerful and physically impressive 6384-150KV motors as well as the wide precision CNC-ed channel trucks. These gorgeous trucks are wide enough to be stable but at the same time be narrow enough to be responsive when you need it to. The 2024 Z1 can easily climb up to 37 miles per hour completely stock with an improved range of 40 real world miles. The Z1 series is my personal favorite electric skateboard lineup of all time. Everything from the looks, to the quality, and to the overwhelming performance. The Z1 2024 is the undisputed king of performance in its price class.
Lastly, the deck is premade to be compatible with bindings. Which I plan to install on the Z1. If you are interested in the installation process of the
MBS bindings or how well the Z1 performs with bindings. Be sure to be subscribed for additional content in the future
